Golf Instruction

PGA Head Golf Professional, John Paul Westbrook, is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management curriculum at Ferris State University. His background in golf instruction has included many hours with top name instructors Mike Bender, Bill Strausbaugh, and Todd Anderson.
JP's experience as a caddie on the PGA Tour allowed him to observe some of the Tour's great players, such as Greg Norman, Jim Furyk, Paul Azinger, and Kenny Perry. He caddied for short game guru Stan Utley, Ed Fiori, and Jay Don Blake. These PGA Tour experiences have given him great insight into the golf swing and how the best players in the world play and compete.
John Paul's teaching philosophy is based on a centered approach to the golf swing (with Sam Snead as the model). A model golf swing is both efficient and effortless. By keeping the body centered over the ball during the swing, a player can turn around his/her axis (spine) to meet the demands of each shot.
With a focus on physics, kinesiology, and anatomy, JP teaches golf in a consistent approach and method. His energy and passion for teaching makes each lesson fun, informative, and focused on the student's strengths. His understanding of the cause and effect of the golf swing enables JP to help each student reach his/her desired result.
As a coach, John Paul encourages his students to play and compete. Physical fitness, nutrition, breathing, and even mental training can be developed to increase each student's potential.
